MMSE is a branch of Mountain Meitheal Ireland (MMI) that works primarily in North and South Galtees, Tipperary. New volunteers, over the age of eighteen, are needed so why not come out with us on any day to see how we work. Hands on training is provided by trained leaders and our work is not all heavy duty; light touch is our motto, routine maintenance is regularly carried out, such as fern cutting, drain clearing to avoid pathways overcrowding. Projects involve water management, digging out channels, stone pitching and specking out new areas where path erosion is a feature. We start our year in March through to November, 1 day a month for only 5 hours. We’d really like to hear from you so commit today to joining us for a professional but fun-filled work day giving something back to the hills.
