Over the 24th and 25th April 2014 eleven Mountain Meitheal volunteers reassembled an Adirondack type shelter in the Wild Nephin project in Co. Mayo. The shelter had been prefabricated in  four days in Avondale Co. Wicklow, disassembled and transported to site. Based on the success of the first shelter on the Bangor Trail it was decided to fund and construct a second shelter, this time on the Western Way. The grid ref is F946123 and if travelling the Western Way it is sign posted where the trail branches off towards Scardaun Lough. The volunteers also constructed a dry toilet  60m to the right of the shelter, the first of it’s kind at any of the shelters.

The following are the locations of the five shelters:

Mucklagh Co Wicklow               T 074 861

Mullacor Co. Wicklow               T 192 924
